Our Founder

Our founder, G. Chakrapani, started the institute “KAVITHA ITI” in 1975, which guided Alappuzha to modern technical methods of education. Inspired by the workshop of his brother “Shri Vidhyadharan”, which he used to visit frequently, he too decided to start welding works. He started his own welding work near YMCA, Alappuzha, with all the support and well wishes from his brother.
Getting more into this field, a thought provided him: “Why not have modern technologies be implemented in welding?" The introduction of modern technology in his works made phenomenal progress. Seeing this, his friends were eager to send their children to learn this modern technology. Those young minds learned the art of welding, which helped them to polish their skills and to conquer their bright future here and abroad.
Apart from educational interest, G. Chakrapani made his incredible impression in art and literature.
A thought to accomplish the lack of a technical institute in Alappuzha made him start an institution in the name of his daughter, which paved the foundation of “KAVITHA ITI”. Now we are working as a government-aided technical institution.
We have our branches in Alappuzha, Cherthala and Kottayam.
Along with the institution, we are also undertaking contract works in the name of Kavitha Engineering Contract Works.

He passed away on the 3rd September 2023.
